“Growing up in Arizona (where the Asian population is under 10%) bred me in a petri dish of everything one wouldn’t find in a predominantly Asian community. Because of this I was “unique!” It was quite the surprise when I transferred on the UO campus where I now have mostly Asian peers. To me, it (being Asian American) has become about forming friendships.”
